2020 Application Cycle

(Revised March 16, 2020)

Sustainable Jersey for Schools strives to provide schools with ample opportunities to achieve certification.  The certification cycle is intended to serve as a coaching and feedback process with three rounds of submission and reviews. In order to maximize the potential for feedback and ultimately achieve certification, it is highly recommended that an application with documentation is submitted for the first two rounds of review.  Applicants who wait until the final deadline to submit an initial application will not have the opportunity to correct any deficiencies until the next year’s certification cycle.

Revised 2020 Certification Application Cycle

In response to the disruption of normal operations and activities that school districts are currently facing to address COVID-19, Sustainable Jersey for Schools is making major adjustments to support participating schools in their efforts to achieve or maintain certification, including revisions to the application cycle reflected below.

You may also download a PDF of the revised cycle HERE.

If you have started but cannot complete an application this year, we will extend the shelf life of your 2020 action submissions and accept them in a 2021 application. If you have worked on an application this year but are not able to either complete it, submit it for review, or earn sufficient points for 2020 certification, then you may continue building your application in 2021 from the 2020 content. Documentation that qualifies for a 2020 action submission will be accepted in 2021.
