The Gardinier Environmental Fund is contributing $150,000 to support a Sustainable Jersey Grants Program cycle for municipal governments and public school districts. For this grant cycle, the Gardinier Environmental Fund will fund energy projects focused on energy conservation, efficiency, and renewable energy. For more information, click here.

The New Jersey Education Association (NJEA) as a program Underwriter is contributing $180,000 to support a Sustainable Jersey for Schools Grants Program cycle. Funding supports efforts to implement projects that help schools gain points needed for Sustainable Jersey for Schools certification and make progress toward a sustainable future. We are pleased to announce that The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is partnering with Sustainable Jersey and The Watershed Institute to offer another round of the Roots for Rivers Reforestation Grant and Technical Assistance Program. The program will support municipal, school district, and local non-profit and conservation organization efforts to undertake their own floodplain reforestation initiatives. Program participants will receive technical assistance to design restoration projects and funding to cover the material costs of tree/shrubs, tree protection tubes, and stakes. Projects costing between $1,000 and $20,000 are eligible. For more information, click HERE.

Sustainable Jersey is partnering with South Jersey Gas (SJG) and The Alliance to Save Energy (The Alliance) to bring the PowerSave Schools program to schools within SJG's service territory. SJG will fund all direct program costs for 40 schools, while the The Alliance will lead implementation of the PowerSave program, providing the tools and resources to ensure a successful program outcome.
