Panasonic Corporation of North America and the Foundation for Impact on Literacy and Learning are pleased to present the 2017 – 2018 Student Eco Citizenship Project. This exciting program and project-based learning experience will guide 4th-8th-grade students in New Jersey as they:
Explore environmental issues
Discover what others are doing to protect the planet
Decide what can be done to positively impact their local environment
Create environmental action plans
Act on their plans
Create Eco Picture Diaries that portray their results
Student teams will be able to submit an Eco Picture Diary into the statewide competition. Winners will receive recognition, Panasonic prizes and a visit to the Panasonic New Jersey headquarters. All entries must be mailed to the Foundation for Impact on Literacy and Learning by April 27, 2018, 6:00 PM EST.
Winners will be announced on or around June 1, 2018.
1. Registrants will receive a Welcome Box after sign up that contains hard copies of all program resources, including five lessons aligned to Common Core Standards that can be completed in two weeks or extended over six weeks. A pacing guide is available.
2. Student teams will research an environmental concern and create an Eco Picture Diary to highlight five actions they completed to protect and save the environment.
3. Each team's Eco Diary can then be submitted into the Eco Picture Diary Contest
4. Prizes will be awarded to the 1st. 2nd, and 3rd place teams and their teachers!
