The New Jersey School Boards Association and the U.S. Green Buildings Council New Jersey (USGBC NJ) are hosting a Green Building tour at PS 16 in Paterson, designed to feature green building best practices. PS 16 is a Pre-K – 8 elementary school recently completed by the New Jersey Development Authority as a "Design Build" project, in partnership with the Paterson Public Schools. The project will achieve LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certification, focuses on the key LEED areas that align with the school's urban setting, and allows the school to maintain sustainable practices within a relatively modest building footprint.
