on Nov 08, 2019

Sustainable Jersey for Schools announced that it is accepting grant applications from New Jersey public schools and school districts for sustainability projects. Funded by the PSEG Foundation, the Sustainable Jersey for Schools Grants Program will make $100,000 available.

Randall Solomon, executive director of Sustainable Jersey said, “We’re pleased that the PSEG Foundation is supporting another cycle of the Sustainable Jersey for Schools Grants Program. With this contribution, the PSEG Foundation has provided $2.2 million dollars in funding to support local sustainability initiatives in municipalities and schools across the state. This ongoing support of the grants program is an excellent example of how public-private partnerships can encourage local efforts to improve the quality of life in New Jersey.”

“The PSEG Foundation is passionate about its aim to support and invest in education and workforce development and build and sustain thriving communities,” said Maria Spina, program manager, PSEG Foundation. “We are proud to partner with Sustainable Jersey, an organization bringing about real positive change for our state, to help fund projects that foster sustainable neighborhoods, economic development and education. By supporting sustainable education in schools, we can help guide children and engage entire communities in the ways to help create opportunities and transform the environment.”

Application proposals will be accepted through Friday, March 13, 2020. Visit the grants page on www.SustainableJerseySchools.com to submit an online application. Sustainable Jersey for Schools has an online grant application portal that allows schools and districts to submit grant proposals and a Blue-Ribbon Selection Committee to facilitate virtual evaluations of the applications.

The Sustainable Jersey for Schools Grants Program will award public school districts or schools with four $10,000 grants for projects like food waste recycling programs, school gardens, school health assessment programs and renewable energy projects and thirty $2,000 capacity building awards to support school green teams.
