Learn about how the Rutgers Environmental Stewards Program complements the Sustainable Jersey and Sustainable Jersey for Schools programs, and how Environmental Stewards assist municipalities to achieve actions and help their communities to become more sustainable. 

The Rutgers Environmental Stewards Program has been providing citizens with the tools to protect New Jersey’s environment for over a decade. The program teaches citizens about the science behind pressing environmental issues and helps participants create positive change in their communities.

This webinar will explain how you can become an Environmental Steward.  Stewards start out by attending class once a week starting in January on topics including climate change, soil health, energy conservation, water resource protection, invasive species management, open space management, habitat conservation, and environmental policy. Graduates of the class complete a 60 hour volunteer internship in order to become certified. Anyone can become an Environmental Steward.
