Sustainable Jersey for Schools at the 2020 New Jersey School Boards Association Virtual Workshop

Virtual Workshop
Each year Sustainable Jersey for Schools exhibits during the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA) Workshop, and provides trainings on different topics. The conference will take place online from Tuesday, October 20 - Thursday October 22. For more information about the 2020 Virtual Workshop "Imagine. Create. During the Workshop, attend one of the Sustainable Jersey for Schools sessions and learn about best practices in schools and districts across the state. Log two or more hours of training in any session that relates to a Sustainable Jersey for Schools certification action and contribute towards earning points for your school or district’s Professional Development for Sustainability action. Transforming School Operations & Culture - This session will feature certified school leaders from Long Branch & Hazlet Township Public Schools. Hear from schools certified with both the Sustainable Jersey for Schools and the former FRS-NJ program as they share how using the structure of a certification program enhanced student learning, improved operations, increased interdepartmental communication and saved money for the district. Take advantage of financial and technical resources offered by the new Sustainable Jersey for Schools Digital Schools program and learn how you can plan for certification in 2020 and beyond!

Energy Savings Through Upgrades and Education- This session will feature certified school leaders from Delran and Winslow Township School DistrictThe panel will provide engaging and inspiring examples of engaged student learning about energy as well as improving the learning environment through energy upgrades on school facilities. The session highlights the PowerSave energy curriculum program as well as the NJ Board of Public Utilities Energy Savings Improvement Program, or ESIP.
