This session is designed to assist middle and high school teachers in bridging classroom concepts with practical, school or community-focused climate solutions. Integrating climate change focused project-based learning experiences into course assignments or extracurricular activities engages students in meaningful learning experiences that empower them to focus on solutions rather than fueling anxiety about the future. Opportunities available to enhance learning aligned with the New Jersey Climate Change Education Student Learning Standards will be highlighted including the New Jersey Student Climate Challenge. Educators, local non-profit organizations, and representatives from municipal green teams and environmental commissions will share strategies, programs, and resources related to guiding student-led projects.
