Contest Block
Opportunity for school districts to receive training, peer support, and up to $15,000 in funding to address cafeteria waste.
This new initiative will engage up to seven public school districts in New Jersey in a Learning & Doing Cohort to address waste in their cafeterias and food service. Participating districts can use up to $15,000 in grant funding to cover expenses to implement food waste interventions such as share tables, composting, dishwashing, menu planning, behavioral nudges in the cafeteria, and values-based procurement.

Sustainable Jersey for Schools is proud to recognize 22 schools as Digital Schools Stars during the Sustainable Jersey for Schools Award Ceremony at the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA) Conference.
These schools represent districts including: Hackensack School District, Readington Township School District, Woodbridge Township School District, Long Branch Public School District, and Tinton Falls School District.
This award honors schools that demonstrate a strong commitment to digital learning and innovation across leadership, instruction, and community engagement.
