Sustainable Jersey Grants Program Cycle
The PSEG Foundation is contributing $100,000 to support another cycle of the Sustainable Jersey Grants Program. With this contribution, the PSEG Foundation has provided $2.8 million dollars in funding to support local sustainability initiatives in municipalities and schools across the state. The PSEG Foundation's ongoing support of the Sustainable Jersey Grants Program is an excellent example of how public/private partnerships can encourage local grass roots efforts to improve the quality of life in New Jersey.
The funding cycle will award:
- Four (4) $10,000 project grants
- Thirty (30) $2,000 project or green team support grants
An informational webinar will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 3-4pm. This webinar will review the application process, provide tips on crafting a successful grant proposal, and demonstrate how to use the online application portal that utilizes our new grants management platform.
To be eligible for a grant in this cycle, the following requirements must be met:
- The applicant must be a New Jersey public school or district.
- The applicant must be registered or certified in the Sustainable Jersey for Schools program and have an appointed school or district green team.
Sustainable Jersey has transitioned to new grants management platform. Applicants who have not submitted a grant through this platform before must first sign up for an account. Those that have can sign into their existing account. For school applicants, the same profile/login information can be used to complete both a 10k and a 2k grant application. School district applicants should use a different account to submit an application than any individual school.
Please note this account is different from the one used to access your certification application. Learn more about creating a grant account on the Online Application Portal Instructions page. Email submissions of grant proposals will not be accepted. All applications must be submitted using the online application portal.
Online Application Deadline: Friday, March 11, 2022 at 11:59 p.m.
Make sure to record the email address and password for the application. Grant recipients will need that information to log into the system to complete reporting requirements.
For more information about what is required for each of the different application sections, click here. The PSEG grant application is comprised of three sections:
- School Grant Proposal
- Sustainable Jersey for Schools Program Status
- Grant Authorization Documentation
The first two sections must be completed by the March 11 deadline. The fourth section does not need to be completed until April 8, 2022. If submitting a resolution as your grant authorization documentation, it is recommended that you get the process started as soon as possible in order to ensure that the resolution is passed in time for your application to be considered.
