Join us for a free screening of the award-winning The Sacrifice Zone, a 30 minute documentary focused on New Jersey's very own Ironbound district of Newark, one of the most toxic neighborhoods in the country. Learn about what activists are doing to improve the air quality and overall health of residents, and break the cycle of poor communities of color serving as dumping grounds for our consumer society. A one-hour panel discussion will follow, moderated by the film's director, Julie Winokur, and featuring Ana Baptista, national environmental justice expert, and Melanie McDermott, Sustainable Jersey's equity initiative lead.
