Decade of Impact: School Video Contest
To celebrate 10 years of the Sustainable Jersey for Schools program, we’re launching a statewide Instagram video contest! Schools are invited to post a short (up to 60-second) video showcasing how a sustainability project or initiative has made an impact in their school or community. To enter, tag @Sustainable_Jersey, use the hashtag #DecadeofImpact, and invite us as a collaborator on your post. The three videos with the most likes on Instagram before June 30 will receive sustainability grants to fund their school initiatives.
Eligibility/Rules
Only Sustainable Jersey registered or certified schools are eligible to participate.
Entries must be submitted by a staff member on the official school or district Instagram page, no personal accounts allowed.
There is no limit to how many videos a school can submit. However, each school is eligible to win only one prize.
By entering, participants grant Sustainable Jersey permission to repost or share submitted content.
Content must be appropriate for school audiences.
Submission Guidelines
Contest Opens: May 27, 2025
Winners Notified: June 30, 2025 at 12:00 PM
Videos must be no longer than 60 seconds and highlight a school sustainability initiative or success story
Follow the steps below to submit your entry:
1. Post your video on your school's official Instagram as a public feed post (not a Story)
2. Follow and Tag @Sustainable_Jersey
3. Include the hashtag #DecadeofImpact
4. Invite @Sustainable_Jersey as a collaborator on the post
Prizes
Winners will be notified through Instagram and posted on this page. Make sure your school's account is public, follows @Sustainable_Jersey, and can receive messages through Instagram. The three videos with the most likes on Instagram before the deadline will receive the following sustainability grants for their schools:
First Place: $1,500
Second Place: $750
Third Place: $500
